Cancer is a disease that has existed as part of human history for thousand of years. In the past 100+ years, the number of people dying annually from cancer has almost tripled from 64.0 per 100,000 in 1900 to 185.9 per 100,000 in 2010.  The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) estimated that there were 19.3 million new cancer cases diagnosed and 10 million deaths in 2020 worldwide.

We are dedicated to understanding the root cause of cancer.

Ketogenic Diet

The ketogenic diet focuses on eating high-fat foods, moderate amounts of protein, and few carbohydrates, which encourages the body to enter a special metabolic state called ketosis. In ketosis, the body shifts from using sugar for energy to using ketones, which come from fat.

A major advantage of the ketogenic diet is its effectiveness for weight loss. By cutting down on carbohydrates, the body begins to use its fat stores for energy, which leads to weight loss. But weight loss is just one of the possible benefits. The impact of a ketogenic diet is being explored in several health conditions.

We explore some of the available research in the following four areas.

In Epilepsy

A review on the case for treatment of epilepsy.

In Type 2 Diabetes

A review into the positive impacts on Type 2 Diabetes.

In Metabolic Syndrome

A review of applicability towards treatment of clustered conditions.

In Neurological Conditions

A review towards the treatment of further neurological conditions.

Dr. Nasha Winters wrote about the benefits of fasting in her book, Metabolic Approach To Cancer™.
Since her book was published, fasting has become increasingly popular as a therapeutic intervention.  A search on the PubMed database shows that there are currently over 5,000 scientific articles published on fasting and its effects on health.
These studies cover a wide range of topics and most have reported positive outcomes including those listed here.

Improved Metabolic & Insulin Sensitivity

Fasting on enhancing the body’s response to insulin, reducing blood sugar levels and lowering the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Reduction in Inflammation

Fasting on it’s ability to reduce inflammation, which is associated with various chronic diseases.

Enhanced Heart Health

Fasting on it’s contribution to improved heart health by lowering blood pressure, triglycerides, and cholesterol levels.

Initiating Autophagy

Fasting on increasing autophagy, a cellular process that replaces damaged cells with healthy ones, contributing to overall cellular health.

Cognitive Health

Fasting on enhancing cognitive function and reducing the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

In 2013 Alison was diagnosed with a terminal malignant brain cancer with an average survival time of 6.8 months. As of this interview in 2023, Alison is thriving after adopting the Metabolic Approach to Cancer, Health & Life.

2023-09-23 10_04_24-Multi-Modal Therapeutic Approach for Breast Lesion Ablation and Metabolic Modula

Local therapeutic strategies in breast cancer management are essential for patients with contraindications to surgical interventions. We explore the use of laser ablation, Photo-Dynamic Therapy (PDT) , and Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) to ablate a superficial breast lesion, accompanied by metabolic optimization to improve treatment outcomes.
