Last night, I had the honor of attending the MAHA Inaugural Ball, an extraordinary evening that brought together disruptors, visionaries, and change makers dedicated to one goal: Making America Healthy Again.
This was not a political event—it was a profound healthcare discussion aimed at tackling the skyrocketing costs of healthcare, the epidemic of chronic illness, the metabolic mayhem we face, and the rising rates of cancer diagnoses, particularly in younger generations.
The night was a powerful reminder that we’ve drifted far from the true purpose of healthcare: serving people. It’s time to take back the narrative and focus on solutions that address the root causes of our health crises. For the first time in my 30+ years of working to transform the oncology and healthcare landscape, I feel a glimmer of true possibility—and that’s a feeling I won’t soon forget.
As someone, more at home walking barefoot on a beach in Mexico than strutting in heels through subfreezing temperatures with a face full of makeup, I can honestly say this was a night to remember.
The room was brimming with energy, hope, and the collective will to spark change. The evening featured incredible speakers and attendees who are leaders in regenerative health, regenerative agriculture, and the fight for a healthier society. While the big stage saw luminaries like Jordan Peterson (clinical psychologist and thought leader), Jewel (singer-songwriter and mental health advocate), RFK (health freedom advocate and environmental attorney), and the dynamic Del Bigtree (investigative journalist and health advocate), I found myself fan-girling over the likes of:
Dr. Eric Berg – Expert in ketogenic nutrition and metabolic health
Dr. Ian Mitchell – Innovator in quantum biology and advanced therapeutics
Dr. Carrie Jones – Hormone health specialist and functional medicine advocate
James Maskell – Founder of the Functional Forum and community medicine visionary
Dr. Aseem Malhotra – Cardiologist and leading advocate for dietary reform and metabolic health
Dr. Caitlin Czezowski – Integrative health practitioner focused on terrain-centric approaches
Dr. Philip Ovadia – Metabolic-focused cardiac surgeon revolutionizing heart health through root-cause solutions
Grace Price – Filmmaker of Cancer: A Food Born Illness, advocating for food as medicine
Dr. Bryce Appelbaum – Vision specialist and author of Biohack Your Vision
Joel Salatin – Regenerative farmer and sustainable agriculture pioneer
Nina Teicholz – Journalist and advocate for evidence-based dietary guidelines
Kelly Ryerson – Glyphosate activist and environmental health advocate (a.k.a. Glyphosate Girl)
Jan Ellison-Baszucki – Advocate for mental health and philanthropy in wellness
Laura Zaspel – Founder of Farm Hero, championing regenerative agriculture and community empowerment.
The conversations were electric. The vision shared in that room was filled with hope and actionable strategies for addressing our most pressing health challenges. This was not just another gathering of passionate individuals; it was a meeting of minds determined to create change.
Though the challenges ahead are daunting, the momentum we’ve built is unstoppable. For the first time in decades, I feel like the puzzle pieces are coming together, and we are finally moving toward a healthcare system that prioritizes prevention, metabolic health, and solutions for all.
This is only the beginning. The path forward is clear, and together, we can transform health—from the soil to the soul.
