If you’re looking for a healthcare practitioner who understands and applies the Metabolic Approach to health, we’re excited to share that all the doctors listed on our website are available for virtual consultations. This means you can receive expert guidance from the comfort of your own home.

Who We Are

The Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health (MTIH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing research and education in metabolic health. While we don’t employ practitioners directly, every practitioner listed on our site has been thoroughly trained and certified by Dr. Nasha Winters in the Metabolic Approach. Although Dr. Nasha is no longer seeing patients directly, she’s fully focused on training and mentoring practitioners, ensuring you receive top-notch care from those she’s personally guided.

How to Find the Right Practitioner on Our Directory

Finding the right healthcare practitioner can feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with complex health challenges like cancer. That’s why we’ve made it simple to connect with certified experts in metabolic integrative oncology through our directory. Here’s how to find the perfect match for your needs:

1. Start with an Advocate Search

Your journey begins by connecting with a Certified Terrain Advocate™. These professionals are trained to guide you through the Terrain Ten assessment, a foundational tool that evaluates your metabolic health and identifies areas needing attention.

  • How to Search: Visit our Advocate Directory and browse through our list of Certified Terrain Advocates™. All advocates consult remotely, so you can start the process from home. Each profile includes their qualifications, expertise, and contact information.

  • Pro Tip: Choose an advocate who aligns with your specific health goals. They’ll be crucial in helping you navigate your journey by assessing your needs and pairing you with the most suitable practitioner.

2. Complete the Terrain Ten Assessment

Once you’ve connected with an advocate, they’ll guide you through the Terrain Ten assessment. This comprehensive evaluation helps you and your advocate understand your unique health landscape, pinpointing key areas that need attention.

  • What to Expect: The assessment covers ten critical aspects of your health, from hormone balance and immune function to metabolic flexibility and mental well-being. Your advocate will help you complete the assessment, analyze the results, and develop a tailored action plan.

3. Choose the Right Practitioner

After the assessment, your advocate will help you find the right practitioner based on your specific needs. Our directory features a wide range of certified professionals trained in the Metabolic Approach to Cancer™.

  • Diverse Expertise: Our practitioners include MDs, NDs, DOs, DCs, PAs, NPs, DRNs, LAc, FABNOs, and DOMs. Your advocate will recommend the best match based on your diagnosis and treatment goals.

  • Remote Consultations: Most of our practitioners consult remotely, offering flexibility and convenience as you move forward with your care.

  • Browse Practitioner Profiles: Each practitioner’s profile includes their qualifications, areas of expertise, and a brief bio. You can filter by specialty, location, and consultation type to find the practitioner that best fits your needs.

4. Schedule Your Initial Consultation

Once you’ve selected a practitioner, the next step is to schedule your initial consultation. Your advocate can assist in setting up this meeting and will often join to ensure all your questions are answered and that the plan aligns with your health goals.

  • Consultation Support: During the consultation, your advocate will help translate medical jargon, simplify treatment plans, and make sure you understand every step of the process.

5. Continue with Ongoing Support

Your journey doesn’t end with the initial consultation. Your advocate will remain a key part of your health management team, providing ongoing support and coordination with your practitioner. This collaboration ensures that your treatment plan is executed smoothly and that you have the resources you need to stay on track.

  • Follow-Up: Regular check-ins with your advocate and practitioner will help you adjust your plan as needed and address any new concerns that arise.

Conclusion

Finding the right practitioner is a crucial step in your health journey, and we’re here to make it as easy as possible. By starting with an advocate, completing the Terrain Ten assessment, and selecting a qualified practitioner, you’re setting the foundation for a personalized, effective treatment plan.
