Greetings from the great state of Texas, y’all. I’m writing from my back porch where spring is in full bloom, a parallel that is palpable in the ethos here at the Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health (MTIH). As the new Executive Director, I have the tremendous honor to take the reins from Dr. Nasha Winters and lead this non-profit into a spring-forward, levelling-up season.
It’s been a solid month since my 1st day on the job and I can honestly say that this appointment is mission-critical and near and dear to my heart rather than a career pivot. When I first started, I knew I was stepping into a role that would challenge me in new ways, but the more I’ve learned, the more I’ve realized just how essential this position is—not just for my own growth, but for the impact it will have on the team, the organization, and the people we serve.
The work I’m contributing to has a deeper significance, and I find myself more invested in the outcomes each day. The challenges I’ve identified have only reinforced how much I believe in the mission of this organization. This role is shaping up to be a defining part of my personal journey, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to make a real impact near and far.
TEST. ASSESS. ADDRESS. DON'T GUESS.
You’ve all heard the mantra: Test. Assess. Address. Don’t Guess. This is at the heart of the metabolic terrain, evidence-based science behind MTIH. While we’re evolving and expanding in exciting new ways, we’re staying true to the principles that have made us who we are. Our core mission and dedication to metabolic health will continue to be at the center of everything we do.
At MTIH, we believe everyone should have access to optimal metabolic health. Today, many clinicians and their patients face overwhelming barriers to success, and we are dedicated to breaking them down. We are here to empower these individuals by providing the critical information, funding, and therapeutics they need—rigorously researched and validated—from the lab to clinical practice. Under my leadership, together, we will build a future where metabolic health is attainable for all.
To date, I have created three distinct divisions within the company that will be pivotal in streamlining operations, driving innovation, and addressing key market needs. Each division was designed with a specific purpose in mind, responding to both current gaps and future opportunities.
Metabolic Science & Innovation Division – This division is at the forefront of cutting-edge research and advancements in metabolic science. The team will focus on exploring new therapeutic approaches, pioneering treatments, and discovering novel ways to address metabolic diseases in our Phoenix, AZ laboratory. By bringing together experts in science, technology, and healthcare innovation, this division aims to revolutionize how we understand and treat metabolic disorders, ultimately improving patient outcomes and quality of life. The division plays a key role in ensuring that our company remains a leader in innovation, driving forward new products and solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible in metabolic health.
Patient Pathways & Funding Division – The creation of this division was driven by the need to better navigate the complex journey patients face in accessing care. It works to optimize patient pathways, ensuring that individuals receive the right care at the right time via a hands-on navigator. Additionally, this division focuses on identifying and securing funding opportunities, whether through grants or partnerships, to support patient care initiatives and drive sustainable outcomes. The goal is to remove barriers to access and provide tailored solutions for patients, helping them overcome financial, logistical, and clinical obstacles while enhancing their overall healthcare experience.
Transformative Cancer Care Division – This division was established to address the need for innovative, patient-centric solutions in the field of oncology. As we work to restore metabolic health both locally and globally, we must think big and take advantage of the current healthcare landscape to shift it in the right direction. Our plan is to create a legacy hospital and clinic network with a new, non-profit or 50/50 foundation model. This approach will attract philanthropists looking to fund a transformative healthcare system, prioritize patient care over profit, and reinvest earnings into improving services and outcomes. This model will not only redefine healthcare, but create a lasting legacy of accessible, innovative care that empowers communities and transforms the future of metabolic health, making a profound impact for generations to come.
I am currently revising the business plan to ensure that it aligns more closely with the evolving needs of our organization and the healthcare landscape. As we move forward, it’s crucial that our strategy is flexible, adaptable, and forward-thinking to address both current challenges and future opportunities. The healthcare industry is rapidly changing, and quite frankly at a tipping point. We need a clear vision that reflects not just where we are, but where we want to go. And go we shall! This revision will focus on refining our goals, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring that we continue to prioritize patient care and innovation. These adjustments to the business plan will not only strengthen our foundation and position us for long-term success, but they will also ensure that we remain at the forefront of transforming cancer care, offering a truly innovative and patient-centered approach to healing via addressing and restoring metabolic health. My goal is to have the business plan formalized and presented to the board for final approval by May 5th.
In the meantime, I’m excited to announce that I’ll be hosting an exclusive open house at our cutting-edge Metabolic Science & Innovation Laboratory in Phoenix in late April. This marks our grand debut in the thriving Biosciences corridor, and our team couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with you. Stay tuned for more details, including a special keynote address from none other than our own Dr. Nasha Winters. Whether you're local or willing to make the journey, I warmly invite you to join us for this monumental event. There will be vision casting, behind-the-scenes tours, and the opportunity to witness firsthand how we’re shaping the future of metabolic science. You won't want to miss it!
I bring to this mission 25 years of healthcare experience, most notably in oncology, business development, and hospital leadership, and I am eager to apply my skills and vision to help MTIH spring forward. My focus will be on creating innovative solutions, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring that we’re always working in the best interests of our global community. We’re pioneering RESEARCH to treat cancer by targeting its metabolic pathways. Through personalized navigation and providing financial grants, we will REACH more patients and their caregivers, empowering both to make informed decisions. Lastly, we’re re-imagining healthcare by focusing on metabolic health to RESTORE the whole person with a bold vision for the future that includes a new hospital and clinic model that integrates cutting-edge science, personalized care, and holistic wellness to optimize long-term health and well-being.
RESEARCH. REACH. RESTORE.
I am truly excited to begin this journey with all of you and look forward to the opportunity to connect, listen, and work together to achieve our shared goals. Your thoughts, feedback, and ideas are invaluable as we move forward, and I encourage you to reach out to me anytime. Whether in person, by email, or during upcoming events, I am eager to engage with each of you. Together, we can create something truly special.
Warm regards,
Daniele Pasatieri
